Ararat is a different restaurant. You are not here for a quick bite and warmed-up frozen food. No pasta, sushi, or tacos either. But if you are in the mood for the tastiest shish kebab, hot kharcho in a pot, or sizzling lamb with vegetables, you came to the right place. We cook for you using only the freshest ingredients, and we do it with love. Whether you love meat assortments, healthy salads, or just hot tea (or Armenian coffee!) with yummy cakes, we can (and will) surprise you. Welcome to Ararat!

The food was absolutely amazing, and everything was delicious! We tried many different things from the menu and it was all awesome. Upon walking in, I wasn't quite sure what to make of the place (it was quiet and empty), but...it was worth it!!!!! I really liked the charm of the decorative dishes and chalices, and the service was great. Again, very authentic food and delicious.

Wow such an amazing restaurant! A restaurant with outstanding food, cozy feeling and such a heartwarming service. The owner of restaurant, Irina, is such a kind hearted host and she exhibits her loving culture through her giving behavior. She gave us the best food recommendations, and personalized some of the meals to perfectly fit our preferences. Irina and her family treat her customers as if their guests at their home. We didn’t have to ask her to refresh our teas, because she was already on it! . If you want a cozy and family friendly restaurant with an extremely down to earth owner, ARARAT is for you!

I came here because I was looking for Armenian food. This place did not disappoint. Just a heads up some items take an hour to make. The owner told me she likes to "make it special", so the food is fresh from the kitchen. I waited an hour and a half, but it was worth it. The dolma was out of this world and the chicken kebob was really good. I will come back to try the whole menu. The food is great and the owner is really nice, so this restaurant gets 5 stars from me.

We moved from Chicago to Mundelein this year and we are obsessed with Ararat. It’s hands down our favorite restaurant, including all the terrific restaurants we miss from the city. The food is truly outstanding, as is the company. The new decor is classy, clean and welcoming, although we also loved the Eastern European feel pre-renovations. We hope it attracts customers that wouldn’t have thought to try it out before because once you try the food, you will be hooked. We are so grateful for Ararat!!!

This is a wonderful little restaurant with amazing food. The owner is kind, welcoming and charming. The food is delicious and made with care- not just the basic hummus etc of the average Mediterranean restaurant- a whole litany of interesting, unique, tasty dishes. It is a great atmosphere, with food served in good portions on very nice tableware. The service was great. Very reasonable prices- excellent value for money.

Small beautiful Armenian restaurant; ALL homemade food, including desserts! Absolutely the best! We came in for a brunch. The restaurant felt like I’m back home , at my mom’s kitchen. Sucha nice family vibe. Everything is so clean, and well prepared. The food was tremendous! We cannot wait to go back and try more dishes. The combo salads plate has 6 different salads. Each salad has an unique taste, something you’ve never tried before!!! Everything was made to perfection. The owner complimented us with a couple of desserts to take home. What a beautiful experience and restaurant rich in aesthetics, culinary skill, service and history. The owner is SUPER kind. Ararat is where Noah's arc landed after the flood.
